01
Introduction
Distill is operated by Better Tomorrow ("Distill," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Distill mobile app, website, and related services.
02
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, sign-in provider information, profile preferences, onboarding answers, selected interests, book requests, feedback, and support messages.
We collect app activity information, including books viewed, summaries played, listening progress, saved books, liked shorts, search activity, subscription status, restore-purchase activity, and app interaction events.
We collect purchase and subscription information through Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat, including product identifiers, entitlement status, transaction metadata, renewal status, and purchase history needed to provide premium access. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
We collect device and technical information, including device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate region, crash logs, diagnostics, performance data, push notification permission status, and identifiers used for app functionality, analytics, attribution, fraud prevention, and subscription management.
If you allow tracking permission on iOS, or where permitted on other platforms, we may use advertising identifiers or attribution identifiers to measure marketing performance and understand how users discover Distill.
03

04
Third-Party Services and SDKs
We use third-party service providers that may process information on our behalf:
- RevenueCat: subscription management, purchase validation, entitlement status, and restore purchases.
- AppsFlyer: install attribution, campaign measurement, and marketing performance analytics.
- PostHog: product analytics, feature usage, and app improvement.

- Sign in with Apple: authentication when you choose to sign in with Apple.

These providers may collect or receive identifiers, device information, usage events, diagnostics, purchase metadata, IP address, and account information depending on the feature used. Their processing is governed by their own privacy terms as well as our agreements with them.
05
Tracking, Analytics, and Attribution
We use analytics to understand how people use Distill and to improve the app. We use attribution tools to understand which marketing campaigns lead to installs or subscriptions.
On iOS, when tracking permission is required, we use Apple's AppTrackingTransparency prompt. If you deny tracking permission, we do not use the iOS advertising identifier for tracking. You can change this choice anytime in iOS Settings.
On Android, you can reset or limit use of your advertising ID in your device settings where supported.
We may still collect non-advertising analytics, diagnostics, subscription, security, and app functionality data when permitted by law and platform rules.
06
Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, we may send reminders, product updates, subscription-related messages, or app experience notifications. You can disable notifications anytime in your device settings.
07
Subscriptions and Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Distill uses RevenueCat to determine whether your account has active premium access.
Deleting your Distill account does not automatically cancel an auto-renewable subscription. Billing continues through Apple or Google Play until you cancel the subscription in your store account settings.
08
Account Deletion
You can request account deletion in the Distill app from Profile settings. When you request deletion, we schedule your account for deletion and show the scheduled deletion date in the app.
Account deletion: Open Distill, go to Settings inside the "Me" tab, and tap Delete Account. Your account will be scheduled for deletion and after 7 days, your data will be permanently removed.
Account deletion removes or anonymizes personal account data associated with your Distill account, except where we must retain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, financial reporting, dispute resolution, or platform compliance reasons.
Some backup, log, diagnostic, or transaction records may remain for a limited period after deletion. Our current backup and log retention period is up to 7 days.
09

10

We retain purchase records, support records, security logs, diagnostics, and legal records for as long as necessary for legitimate business, legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and compliance purposes.
11
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12

Distill is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
13

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. These countries may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
